The mountain ash thrush is a common species of European thrush. It nests everywhere in Europe, from the northern border of forest vegetation to the northern border of the steppe strip, as well as in Siberia - to the watershed between the Yenisei and Lena. Fieldfarers got their name for their love of berries. In their life, mountain ash occupies such an important place that with a good harvest of these berries, field trees remain to winter at home. The cold does not frighten them - there would be food.
Fieldfowls are very brave, active and even warlike birds. In the colony, they amicably attack predators and almost always drive them out. They can boldly attack land animals, including humans, flying over his very head and often spraying droppings (behavior characteristic of the defensive reaction of the field ash and some other thrush). Fieldfarers have a lot of enemies. The main enemy in most cases is the crow, which often makes a nest in the vicinity of the thrushes colonies. However, having noticed a crow that has appeared in the colony, even single males boldly attack it and invariably put it to flight.
