Lausanne

Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, lies on the northern shore of Lake Geneva. The city is comfortably surrounded by hills overgrown with vineyards. This city is the second cultural and economic center of French-speaking Switzerland after Geneva. At all times, Lausanne has been interesting for travelers. Mozart, Byron, Shelley, Dickens, Stravinsky, Victor Hugo stayed and lived here for a long time. This is a wonderful city in which the narrow old streets of the historic center are harmoniously combined with new modern quarters. The medieval city center consists of small alleys, shops, cafes and restaurants.
