Scotney Castle is a country house with gardens in the Beoul Valley in Kent, England. It belongs to the National Fund. The gardens, which are an example of the picturesque style, are open to the public. In the center are the ruins of a medieval moat-surrounded manor house of the old Skotny castle, built in 1378-1380 and located on the island of a small lake. The lake is surrounded by sloping, wooded gardens with beautiful collections of rhododendrons and azaleas blooming in spring, wisterias and roses in summer, and impressive autumn colors.
