In a picturesque place among dense forests with deep lakes, only fifteen kilometers north of Dresden is the Moritzburg hunting castle, which is rightfully considered one of the architectural and historical masterpieces of Germany.
In the middle of the lake on an artificial island, like on a pedestal, the monumental castle rises on a solid plinth-terrace. Because the castle is raised, from the side it seems as if it hovers over the area.
