Vaidahunyad Castle

Vaidahunyad Castle rises by one of the artificial lakes of the Varoshliget city park. The castle was built to commemorate the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarians' acquisition of their homeland in 1896 by the architect Ignaz Alpar, originally as a wooden decoration for a play, and then in 1904 immortalized in stone. Currently, it houses the Agricultural Museum, where there is an exhibition of winemaking and tasting of the best Hungarian wines. And in the most beautiful building - the chapel, solemn events are held. Towards evening, multi-colored lights illuminate the castle, and it seems to turn into a theatrical scenery. It also hosts a variety of concerts, festivals and films.
