Troja Castle is an elegant Baroque palace, which is one of the finest summer residences in the Czech capital. It is located in the Troja region, on the northern outskirts of Prague along the Vltava River. Outside, the main and most noticeable element of architecture is a two-flight staircase, decorated with statues of ancient titans and ancient Greek gods. Brothers sculptors Herman were able to convey the atmosphere and embody in stone the moment of the battle of the titans and the gods. Visitors can also see the symbolic image of Tartarus, the abyss into which the Titans were cast. Thus, the architectural design of the staircase suggests that the name of the Troy castle is associated with the antique atmosphere of the palace.
