Cheese fair in Alkmaar

The cheese capital of the Netherlands, Alkmaar, is just a few kilometers from Amsterdam. Everything here revolves around cheese, and the tradition of cheese fairs, like the holy of holies, has been carefully preserved since 1593.
The famous Kaasmarkt, the pride of any Alkmaert, takes place every Friday from April to September in the city center on the Weight Square. In total, 22 cheese fairs per year. Starting at 10:00 for 2-3 hours you can witness an interesting show. Its participants are cheese quality controllers in white coats, strict weighers in black suits, and porters dressed in snow-white clothes and hats.
