The palace was built in 1880 according to the project of the French architect Ludwig de Verny with the participation of the Polish architect Julian Cybulski on the site of a small estate that previously belonged to Alfred Jozef Potocki.
In 1919, the end of the Polish-Ukrainian war was celebrated. During the demonstration flights, the American pilot demonstrated aerobatics and ... crashed into the left wing of the palace. The explosion of the fuel tanks caused a fire and destruction of the upper floor, the repairs lasted until the 30s. After World War II, the palace housed various institutions, until after the restoration in 1975, the Wedding Palace was opened in it. In the end, the palace was given to the Lviv Art Gallery. Now in its halls there is an exposition of interiors and European art of the 18th century, as well as an annual book forum of publishers.
