Soroka Victor Filimonovich 76 years old. A retired military man, he began to paint only after retirement, although he painted all his life.
The construction of the neo-Gothic church began in 1903. The church was built with money from railway workers, and therefore one of the chapels was named after St. Hubert - the patron saint of railway workers. The main facade of the church is decorated with a sculpture of Jesus Christ, the work of the outstanding sculptor Piotr Viitavić. There is an opinion that the place was not chosen by chance. The Catholic Church is the first thing that should have been seen when arriving in Lviv, so the temple was built near the railway station. The Church of St. Elжbeth survived more than one war, it was shelled during the war of 1918-1919, it was damaged by an aerial bomb in 1939, and yet the church continued to operate. It was closed in 1946, and in the 70s it was given as a warehouse. And only in 1991 the church was transferred to the Greek Catholic parish, and then it again opened its doors to parishioners.
