Battle of Hoth

Hoth is the sixth desert ice planet in the system of the same name, which is located along the Ison corridor, away from space routes and inhabited worlds in the very outskirts of the civilized part of the galaxy. The planet's surface is covered with ice and snow, as well as rare rocks. The planet is practically uninhabited, with the exception of the equatorial belt, covered mainly by tundra.
Despite the constant lack of food, there are two fairly large populations on this planet: the wild snowy Tontons are reptile-like creatures covered with thick wool that live in the many icy caves of Hoth. Unfortunately for the Tontons, their main enemy, the Wampa snow beast, also lives in these caves. Wild wampa have large claws and teeth, and reach a height of 2 meters.
The very nature on Hoth poses a threat to life: the entire planet is chained in snow and ice, and meteors fall on its surface with frightening persistence. Unsurprisingly, planets with such living conditions are not even mapped to many space maps, making it an excellent choice for a Rebel base - the Rebel Alliance chose Hoth as the site of Echo Base, a Rebel outpost built since the evacuation of the base on Yavin IV.
Echo base is located on the northern edge of the planet's equatorial belt, among the snow-capped mountains. Although the cold is still tolerable for humans during the daytime, temperatures drop at night and it is almost impossible to survive outside the shelter. Equipment is also affected by the cold of Hoth, and base mechanics have to work to adapt their mechanism to the freezing climate.
However, the rebels were discovered by an Imperial probe droid and a devastating battle ensued for Hoth.
