Sequoia National Park

Sequoia National Park is located east of the city of Visalia in California, USA. The area of the park is over 1500 km2. It has mountainous terrain, rising from an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level to the highest peak of almost 4500 meters. Most of the park is wild, off-road, and tourist walks are only done on foot or on horseback.

The park is known all over the world for its giant sequoias. One of them is the General Sherman Tree - the largest tree on Earth. This tree grows in the Giant Forest, which also contains five of the ten largest trees in the world in terms of timber volume.
