Rapeseed fields bloom in March near the town of Luoping in Yunnan Province (China). This annual herb of the cabbage family, more like a weed, amazingly transforms the landscape during flowering. If the Japanese go to the parks in the spring to admire the pink sakura, then the Chinese go for a walk in the rapeseed fields.
Instead of peasants, crowds of artists, photographers and tourists roam the endless yellow fields of rapeseed fields scattered among karst peaks. The best viewpoint is at the top of Jinjifeng (Golden Rooster) Peak.
