The capital of the West Flanders province, the medieval city of Bruges, is rightfully called the Venice of the North. The entire city is cut up and down by many narrow canals, and along them in dense rows lined with multi-colored carved facades, which make Bruges look like a gingerbread town. Residents sincerely love and are proud of it, rightly considering it one of the most beautiful places on earth.
