Loire Valley Castles.
Chateau de Cheverny is a castle located in the city of the same name in the Loire-et-Cher department, not far from the castles of Blois and Chambord. The castle was built in the seventeenth century in a classical style designed by Jacques Bougier. For most of its history, the residence was owned by one family name. Thanks to this, the interior interiors of Cheverny have preserved their original appearance better than other castles in the Loire. The castle is famous for its regular dog hunts. The residence is still the private property of the descendants of Philippe Huro. Despite this, Cheverny is one of the first castles in France open to the public for tourists.
