You sleep alone, forgotten in a wild place,
An ancient monastery!
Your vault has fallen; fly around screaming
Owl and bat.

And there are no glasses, and the whirlwind of the night whistles
Into the hollow of the window
Yes ivy grows, yes fixes eyes
Midnight moon.

And someone there flickers in the moonlight,
His dress shines -
And they are heard on the cast-iron platform
Footsteps and sounds of spurs.

And a sad symphony of sorrow
The organ sounds in the darkness ...
Everything is quiet, as if they were sleeping forever
And the walls and the organ.
