Larry Elmore is a renowned American painter and editor working in the genre of fantastic realism. Larry Elmore was born on August 5, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky. After completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Elmore began his career in the arts, working as an illustrator for the United States government. However, soon, thanks to his passion for Celtic culture, Larry took up painting in the fantasy genre. Since 1981, he has been a member of the art editorial staff of TSR Inc., where Elmore has been a major influence on the gaming industry and the look of Dungeons & Dragons games. Elmore is best known for the appearance of Dragonlance, for which Larry created several hundred covers and color illustrations, which in no small measure contributed to the series' books becoming international bestsellers.
Larry is building his career in such a way that it gives him more time and opportunity to pursue creativity that better reflects his own vision of the art of fantasy.
