The golden bee-eater or jaundice, the bee-eater is one of the most colorful birds of the bee-eater family. It is a small insectivorous bird flying in flocks. Arriving in flocks to apiaries or to places of flight of bees, bee-eaters destroy large numbers of collecting bees, disrupting or greatly reducing the honey harvest. Bee-eaters also destroy a lot of bumblebees, thereby causing great harm to clover seed production. It breeds in Europe, partly in North America and western Asia. The bee-eater is a migratory bird that hibernates in tropical Africa or India.
