In the Indian city of Amritsar, there is one of the most beautiful sights of India - the golden temple of Harmandir Sahib or the Golden Temple of the Sikhs. The history of this city dates back to 1577, when the Sikh guru Ram Das dug a reservoir and proclaimed it the source of the elixir of immortality. It was in honor of this source that the city was named, which eventually grew around. Ten years after this significant event, the construction of a temple began, located right in the middle of the surface of the reservoir. The golden temple was fully erected in 1604; the originals of the manuscripts of the guru Arjan Deva are still kept inside it. The temple is open to everyone, without exception, you just need to take off your shoes and wash your feet in a special reservoir and cover your head.
