On Monday, on the day of the beginning of the Narrow Maslenitsa, according to tradition, the time and place of the festivities and the composition of the guests were discussed. On this day, all preparations for the festivities were completed: an effigy of Maslenitsa was made from straw, and the hostesses began to bake pancakes, the first of which was given to the poor in commemoration of the dead.
