Substitution

The film is set in Los Angeles in the 1920s, and is based on the events known as the Vineville murders. Having turned to the police with a statement about the disappearance of the child, the main character soon gets her son, but informs the police that, despite the external similarity, this is not her son. Instead of help, the unfortunate mother receives a residence permit in the ward of a clinic for insane. When a woman finds out that her real son was the victim of a serial killer, she begins to search for the truth on her own, enters into a fight with corrupt police officers and even changes the laws on the mentally ill at that time.
