New Town Hall in Hannover, Germany

This building, with its scale and monumental style, gives the impression of a royal palace, although it arose only at the beginning of the 20th century as a result of 12 years of construction work, completed just before the war in 1913. More than 10 million Reichsmarks have been spent by the city administration on the construction of this luxurious building on 6026 beech piles. New Town Hall is the seat of the mayor of the city and the city administration. It hosts political meetings, receptions of official guests of the city, various exhibitions, and houses the Citizens Service Bureau. But its doors are constantly open for ordinary visitors. In the main hall, under an almost 100-meter dome, there are 4 city models representing Hanover in the Middle Ages, the city of the pre-war period, the state of the city center after military destruction and the current state.
