Godfather of fashion - this is what Stephen Meisel is called now. Born July 6, 1954, in New York. From the very childhood he was fond of fashion, while other boys read comics, Stephen looked through fashion magazines and could easily recognize every picture of every photographer.

Maisel studied at Parsons School of Design, and got a job as an illustrator at Women’s Wear Daily. One day he was asked to take a few simple shots for the portfolio of budding models of the Elite agency, and this is how it would have ended if these shots had not been randomly received by the editors of Seventeen. So the world of fashion found another genius.

Since 1988, he has regularly taken pictures for Italian Vogue, in 1991 another issue of the magazine with Madonna on the cover came out, the singer liked the picture so much that she invites the photographer to make the cover for her scandalous book "Sex", and then asked to create the covers of several albums and singles - "Like A Virgi", "Bad Girl".
