Christa Kieffer was born in Tubingen, Germany. She studied first in Europe, then moved to the United States to continue her studies at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. In oil on canvas, Christa Kieffer uses gloss to create a sense of light and depth in her work. The main theme of her paintings is the romantic time of the 19th century - smart, graceful young ladies, accompanied by elegant men on the streets of Paris.
The artist currently lives on the coast of California, but often travels to France to wander around her beloved Paris.
May was in bloom in Paris
And they traded in lilies of the valley,
Chestnuts in blue spring
Signals - candles were sent.
Cancan shone in Fuli-Bourger
The scent of eclairs was teasing
And in Notre Dame the organ sang
And he called to forget about the present.
He called in other times,
When vanity and strength
Throwing giants into stirrups
Palaces and castles were lifted.
Versailles shone like in the old days,
The Vendôme column bloomed,
Along the eternal Pigalle square
Cheap Madonnas wandered around.
The spring shower rang with rain,
And in Montmartre they sang softly,
And the wings of the old Moulin Rouge
They flew over the blue city.
Mist floated behind the Seine, like smoke,
Hiding second-hand booksellers.
Paris was forever young
And gentle, like the soul of an artist.
