Solomon islands
A constitutional monarchy, consisting of a group of islands in the Southwest Pacific.
The national flag was adopted on November 18, 1977. Its proportions are 1: 2.
The stars originally represented the country's five regions, but in 1982, when the country was divided into seven provinces, it was decided that the stars would represent the five main island groups. Yellow stands for the sun, blue stands for water (sea, rivers, and rain), and green stands for land, its vegetation, and agricultural crops.
