It is the outer territory of Australia called the Territory of the Cocos Islands.
The official flag of the territory is the flag of Australia, but the local, unofficial flag is also used - a green banner depicting a coconut tree, a crescent moon and the Southern Cross. The coconut tree is the “visiting card” of the territory, the green color and the crescent mean Islam, and the image of the Southern Cross constellation is typical for many flags of the Southern Hemisphere. The flag has been in use since 2003. Flag sides 1: 2.
