Tea party with berry cake

Tea drinking is traditionally one of the most important elements of hospitality, so during it it is very important to follow a few simple rules that will make the feast a pleasant pastime for all participants in the ceremony. If cakes and biscuits are served at the table, they should be taken from the common dish with special tongs or a spatula, and it is better to eat with a teaspoon or cake fork. Sand cakes and puff cakes are eaten with a knife and fork, while muffins and rum babas are cut into pieces, placed on individual plates and eaten with a spoon. Cakes can be eaten by hand, breaking off piece by piece. Desserts in small paper napkins are transferred to their plate along with a napkin and eaten from it, and cookies, waffles and dry cakes are taken from the common plate with their hands, break off small pieces and eat.
