Belbog (Belobog, Belun) is the embodiment of light, the god of good, luck, happiness, good, the personification of the daytime and spring sky. His sanctuary was on a hill open to the sun, and Belbog's numerous gold and silver jewelry reflected the play of rays and even illuminated the temple at night, where there was not a single shadow, not a single gloomy corner.
“In White Russia, not without good people,” the people used to say since ancient times, calling their Fatherland, the tsar, and the faith white. And white light has always been the embodiment of the world, earth and heaven, the entire immense universe.
He is also revered as the giver of wealth and fertility. During the harvest Belun comes to the fields and helps the reapers in their work. Most often he appears in spicy rye with a bag of money on his nose, beckons some poor man and asks him to wipe his nose: if he fulfills the request, then money will fall out of the bag, and Belun will disappear.
The Slavs represented Belobog as follows: "He was tall, with a long white beard, in white clothes and with a staff in his hand, sometimes surrounded by radiance, light." In ancient times, the sanctuary of Belobog was located on a hill open to the sun, and Belobog's numerous gold and silver jewelry reflected the play of rays and even illuminated the temple at night, where there was not a single shadow, not a single gloomy corner.
