The Inca cockatoo is a graceful and extraordinarily beautiful member of the cockatoo family with soft pink plumage. It is found in western and southern Australia, where it inhabits eucalyptus forests, shrubs and woodlands.
Inca cockatoos live in pairs that form for life.
They feed on grain, seeds of trees and shrubs, fruits, larvae, nuts and flowers. Early in the morning and before sunset, Inca cockatoos must go to a watering hole, and in hot weather they prefer to sit in the dense crowns of trees. In some areas, they are considered pests, as they gladly peck wheat and almonds from the fields.
