Uemura Shoen (1875-1949) was a Japanese artist of the Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods.
The artist's works are sustained in a manner depicting the Japanese type of a beautiful woman in accordance with the canons of the ukiyo-e style of the nihonga style, which revived traditional Japanese painting in the late 19th - early 20th centuries.
