Pegasus is a winged horse born from the body (or from the blood) of the gorgon Medusa, killed by Perseus, along with the giant Chrysaor. Since the horse was born at the headwaters of the Ocean, it was named Pegasus (Greek "stormy current"). He flew with the speed of the wind. Thanks to Pegasus, Perseus was able to hit the Chimera from a bow from the air (other myths attribute this feat to Bellerophon). Delivered to Zeus to Olympus thunder and lightning. He lived in the mountains, spending more time on Parnassus in Phocis and Helikon in Boeotia.
