The Luger pistol (Luger, Parabellum) is a German self-loading pistol developed in 1898 by the Austrian Georg Luger. The main advantage of the "Parabellum" is the high accuracy of shooting, achieved due to the comfortable anatomical handle with a large angle of inclination and easy descent. Difficult and expensive to manufacture, the Parabellum nevertheless proved to be very successful, and became an advanced weapon system for its time. The Luger P08 pistol was actively used in the First and Second World Wars. Having significantly influenced the development of arms business, the Luger pistol has become a kind of benchmark for comparison. The quality and exceptional survivability of Luger's pistols allowed them to successfully survive to this day and become a popular civilian and sporting weapon. "Luger" is often found in private weapons collections. The most expensive gold-plated Luger costs $ 56,000.
