Sissel Skille lives in the small Norwegian town of Trondheim, which was founded over 1000 years ago. It was once the first capital of Norway and still has preserved the traditions of the spiritual center of the country. Now it is the third largest city, where coronations are still held. But Sissel was born and raised in another town, in Northern Norway at the same latitude as the Russian northern city of Murmansk. She has always been fascinated by children's faces. But, despite the fact that Sissel was interested in art all her life and loved it, she did not receive a professional art education. Sissel began making dolls more than 30 years ago, without any special knowledge or necessary skills. Mastery has been acquired over the years. Her strong point is portraits of children. Most often, her dolls laugh, but the portrait resemblance is such that if you look at a photograph of a doll and a real child, it is often difficult to determine which of the two depicts a "human" and which polymer cub.
