Countess Sofya Andreevna Bobrinskaya, nee Shuvalova

Countess Sofya Andreevna Shuvalova (July 17, 1829 - September 9, 1912), daughter of Andrei Petrovich Shuvalov and Fyokla Ignatievna Zubova, nee Valentinovich (1801-1873), who was in her first marriage to Count Zubov.
On April 30, 1850, she married Count Alexander Alekseevich Bobrinsky (1823-1903), a Russian genealogist, chief hofmeister.
In 1878, at the request of Countess Bobrinskaya, the Mariinsky Orphanage was opened, which she headed until 1903. Five sons were born in the marriage.
