Street art depicts one of the most famous kiss photos: a sailor kisses a young nurse in Times Square after Japan's surrender in 1945.
This moment was captured by photographer Alfred Eisenstedt.
Years later, a sculpture was erected in Times Square, reproducing the famous scene. The same girl opened it. Her identity was established 60 years later, she turned out to be Edith Shane. She recalls this moment in this way: "I was not at all shocked by the embrace of a stranger and did not mind the kiss. It was a great day, a celebration of victory, and everyone around was hugging and kissing."
