Ornstein the Dragon Slayer and Executioner Smaug

Ornstein's past is anyone's guess. Judging by his nickname, Ornstein distinguished himself greatly during the war with the dragons. Being a member of the four speaks of his superior fighting skills, and Ornstein is also the captain of the Four Knights. Ornstein owns a lion ring and a unique Dragon Slayer spear that deals lightning damage. It is unknown if this is an ability of the spear itself or its owner. Ornstein's golden armor, on the other hand, protects against lightning. At the time of the events of the game, he is the only one of the four knights who remained in Anor Londo and guards the illusion of Princess Guinevere along with Smog, possibly on the orders of the youngest son of the Lord of Ash, Gwindolin.
Smaug is an executioner in gigantic heavy armor with a huge hammer. He wanted to become one of the Four Knights of Gwynne, but because he added the bones of his victims to his food, he was not accepted. Despite this, he stayed with Ornstein to guard the princess illusion.
