Stanislav Yulianovich Zhukovsky (May 25 (13), 1873, the village of Endrikhovtsy, Grodno province, the Russian Empire - August 1944, Prushkov, near Warsaw, Poland) - Russian artist of Polish origin. Born into the family of an aristocrat, deprived of possessions and noble rights for participating in the Polish uprising of 1863.
Stanislav Zhukovsky studied at the Bialystok Real School, where his talent was noticed by a young teacher and artist Sergei Yuzhanin. In 1892, Zhukovsky, against his father's wishes, went to Moscow to study painting. Graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1901. Studied under I. Levitan and V. Polenov. Since 1895 Zhukovsky has been participating in exhibitions of the Itinerants. By the beginning of the 20th century, Zhukovsky had become one of the most famous impressionist landscape painters in Russia.
In August 1944, during the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising, the artist was arrested by the Nazis. He died in a concentration camp in Pruszkow in 1944. Stanislav Zhukovsky
