Alaverdi is a cathedral of the first quarter of the XI century (St. George's Cathedral) and a monastery complex near the village of the same name in Akhmeta municipality of Kakheti, Georgia.
The height of the cathedral is about 50 m, the height of the interior space is over 42 m.
Paintings of the 15th century have been preserved in the cathedral.
Alaverdi Cathedral has been submitted for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
