Don Maitz (Don Maitz) - famous American illustrator. Born in America in 1953 in Plainville, Connecticut. Showed a great talent for the arts since childhood, Don Meitz specializes in the genres of science fiction and fantasy. Illustrated books by such famous writers as: Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Caroline Cherry, Stephen King, Michael Moorcock, Alan Dee Foster, Gina Wolfe, Raymond Feist and others. He currently resides in Sarasota, Florida. He is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). Has released two albums of his works. He was twice awarded the prestigious Hugo Prize. He is the recipient of the Excellence Silver Medal of the Society of Illustrators and many other awards and prizes.
