Carambola

The evergreen carambola tree originally grew only in the tropical climate of South and Southeast Asia, India. Relatively recently, it was acclimatized in Brazil, USA, Israel and several other countries. The popularity of star fruit is easy to explain: the taste of its juicy crunchy fruits is refreshingly sweet, sometimes sour, slightly spicy, it is difficult to describe it, but most people find it as pleasant as unusual.
There are light floral notes in the aroma of the fruit. The fruit itself is yellow or yellow-brown, amber, sometimes with a green tint, glossy, ribbed. In section, it forms a five-pointed star. Therefore, carambola is also called "tropical star" or "star apple".
