Red beach

Panjin Red Beach. Every fall, the beach located in the Shuantai-Hekou Nature Reserve on the Liaohe River, near the cities of Panjin and Yingkou, Liaoning Province, China, turns red. The fact is that the bank of the Liaohe River is dotted with Sueda seaweed. But during the period of their growth, from April to May, they have a green color and only by September, dying off, the algae gradually acquire a bright red color. Algae is used as a natural thickener agar-agar, similar to gelatin, adding, in particular, to confectionery (marmalade, candy, soufflé, marshmallow, jam, confiture, filling for sweets), and at the same time it is rich in trace elements such as iodine, iron, calcium, as well as many other valuable substances and vitamins.
