These twelve paintings were once hung in Emperor Qianlong's palace, one every month.

6th month: "Summer's End", "Ji Xia".

At this time, the North Bucket is oriented towards the sector of Heaven with the sign WEI. The last month of summer is associated with heavy sediment of the movement of the soil, which feeds all four times. Ten thousand things reach their prime. The salty and sweet taste is enhanced, and thus the kidneys are strengthened.
At this time, the qi breath of the kidneys is very weak. The spleen alone rules the body, and therefore one should eat salty and fatty foods in order to strengthen the breathing-chi of the kidneys and strengthen the tendons and bones. Then the pathogenic qi breath cannot enter the body.
There is no need to disturb the soil during this month. Formidable orders should not be given. One should avoid exposure to breath-qi heat. You cannot be exposed to the wind after cleansing and ablution. Do not use only cold water to wash your hands and feet. One must beware of the harmful wind from the East: as a result of its influence, hands may be taken away, the body will become weak and heavy, shortness of breath will appear, and there will be no strength in four limbs.

11) Season "Xiao Shu", "Low Heat" July 7-8 (beginning of the month).
