The scroll is 43 cm high and 600 cm wide.

Zhongnanhai is the common name for Zhonghai and Nanhai lakes.
Zhongnanhai is located in the west of the Gugong Imperial Palace.
Its total area is 100 hectares, including the water surface - 50 hectares.
Under Emperor Qianlong 乾隆 (1711-1799, reigned 1735-1795), most of the buildings of the imperial park were erected,
among them - the Pavilion of the Five Dragons, the Wall of the Nine Dragons, the Temple of Understanding of Happiness.
Zhongnanhai became a place for promenades and banquets for the imperial family.
At Christie's in Paris, the "Yuanxi Kaiyan Map" scroll was sold for 5.4 million euros.
