Sapukaya (Lecythis sapukaya from the lecithium family). The tree has a decorative purpose. During flowering (in September) it beautifully decorates gardens and landscapes. Notable are the sapucaya fruits or, as they are sometimes called, "paradise nuts". Connoisseurs believe that these are the most delicious of all known nuts. They are enclosed in a large woody shell of an original shape, somewhat similar to a primitive pot, molded without a potter's wheel. By the time of ripening, a kind of lid falls out of the upper part of the fruit, and then the seeds - nuts (there are 15–25 of them in the fruit) fall out of the shell.
Sugar or some other bait is poured into a "pot" without a lid, and it turns into a trap for small monkeys. Having thrust its head inside and typing food into its mouth, the monkey can no longer pull it out and rushes about helplessly until it is caught.
This is probably the origin of the popular name sapukaya - "monkey pot". It happens that inexperienced dogs also fall into this trap.
