The flora of the Amazon

The giant water lily or Victoria Amazonian reaches a diameter of 2 to 2.5 meters. It grows in the rivers of the Amazon, Bolivia and Brazil. Named after Queen Victoria. Outwardly, the leaves look like a huge frying pan, one leaf can easily withstand a weight of up to fifty kilograms. Local residents transport their household belongings and small children from coast to coast on them. The plant is ideally adapted to tropical showers. Water does not accumulate on the sheet plate, flowing down a special groove. Thus, excess moisture leaves the surface of the sheet.
