The painting "Qingming Festival on the Bianhe River" is an invaluable unique piece in the history of Chinese painting. It was painted by the 12th-century Song Dynasty artist Zhang Zeduan on a silk cloth 24.8 cm high and 528 cm wide. The painting is distinguished by a detailed depiction of urban life, showing the lush flourishing of Bianliang, the capital of the Northern Song dynasty. This work does not lose its brilliance to this day.
Over the next centuries, several dozen variations on this theme were created.
