Río Tinto (Spanish Río Tinto, [ˈri.o ˈtinto], literally "red river") is a river in southwestern Spain in the autonomous region of Andalusia. As a result of erosion and mining, the Rio Tinto water is extremely acidic (PH 2-2.5) and a bright red color, caused by its high content of iron and other metals.
