1 The memorial to the heroes of the defense of Sevastopol of 1941-1942 is located in the center of the city, on Nakhimov Square. The basis of the monument is a relief image of a warrior made of concrete, symbolizing the successful reflection of two of the three assaults on the city during the Great Patriotic War. The granite memorial plaques list the ships, military units and organizations of the city that took part in the defense of Sevastopol, as well as the names of those awarded for their participation in these battles with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
2 Monument on Sapun-Gora. During the Great Patriotic War, the mountain was a key defensive position on the outskirts of the city; here fierce battles were fought with German troops during the defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 and the Crimean operation in 1944.
3 The monument to the 2nd Guards Army in Sevastopol is located on the northern side of the city, next to Zakharov Square, on the high Cape of Kordon. It was the soldiers of the 2nd Guards Army that liberated the northern side of Sevastopol on May 9, 1944, and then, together with the 51st Primorsky Army, the entire city.
