The Orthodox Christian holiday Palm Sunday in Bulgaria is called the Flower Garden, and is revered as one of the biggest spring holidays
The flower garden or Verbnitsa is celebrated by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church on Sunday after Lazarus Day, a week before Easter. The feast day is dedicated to the solemn entry of Christ into Jerusalem, where people greeted him with sprigs of olives and laurel. Therefore, on this day, people go to the festive church service and take with them willow branches, geraniums and other spring flowers, and after the church morning prayer, they bring home the willow branches consecrated in the church, and weave a wreath from them, which they hang on the front door. It is believed that this wreath will protect the home from misfortunes and evil spirits. A year later, in front of the new Flower House, this wreath is burned.
Everyone celebrates this day, names with "flower" names, and there are many of them in Bulgaria.
