Palace Square is the main square of St. Petersburg, an architectural ensemble that arose in the second half of the 18th - first half of the 19th century.
The square is formed by monuments of history and culture of federal significance: the Winter Palace, the building of the headquarters of the Guards Corps, the General Staff Building with the Triumphal Arch, the Alexander Column. As part of the historical buildings in the center of St. Petersburg, the square is included in the World Heritage List and is a pedestrian zone.
