Why part of America's territory was called the Wild West, no one can say for sure. Perhaps because this land has long been inhabited by Indians who did not want to give it to the pale-faced. And perhaps it was named because of the climate of that region. Despite the beauty of the landscapes, it was very difficult to live there, because most of the territory is sandy deserts and prairies.
